VentureWell’s E-Teams program provides funds for faculty-led multidisciplinary student teams to bring inventions to market. E-teams must contain a minimum of two active undergraduate or graduate RIT students as key members, and a faculty mentor who will serve as Principal Investigator (PI).
Applicants for the winter 2019 program cycle must submit project abstracts (described below) to Charles Bush at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 18,2019 at 5:00 p.m.
Full program details are at https://venturewell.org/student-grants/.
Students looking for faculty mentors are urged to contact the Simone Center.
Stage 1 ($5,000) and Stage 2 ($20,000) awards cover travel expenses related to attending an E-Teams workshop. Remaining funds may be used for expenses associated with furthering the innovation. Indirect Costs are not allowed. Awards are made to and managed by RIT, not to individual applicants.
How to apply
At least one week prior to submission, RIT Principal Investigators must complete a Proposal Routing Form (PRF) and obtain all required RIT approvals. Proposal Routing Forms are available here: https://www.rit.edu/research/srs/formsagreements
Student team members should read and understand RIT’s intellectual property policy for students before developing an application: https://www.rit.edu/research/ipmo/resources/for-students and contact Bill Bond, Director of the Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer Office with questions or concerns.
Proposals must follow all instructions as detailed in the program guidelines. During submission, all e-teams are required to obtain verifications of support from the Principal Investigator, Administrative Contact, and PI’s Department Chair.
Failure to comply with these instructions may require applicants to wait for the next cycle to submit.
