Harmonizing Philosophy, Science and Ethics with the Platonic Dialogues

The Allegory of the Cave is a short story from Plato's dialogue Republic. The story highlights the different perspectives of how knowledge is acquired, and how it can affect our understanding of reality, and the judgments we make about it. In this presentation, I'll share how the frequent encounter with this story has allowed me to enhance my understanding of the philosophical, scientific and ethical perspectives of being a student in both Computer Science and Philosophy. Similarly, how the importance of seeking harmony between these perspectives can be turned into a transformative experience to become a well-rounded person, and be better prepared for future challenges both in industry and academia.
