Getting to RIT
RIT’s campus is conveniently located five miles from the Greater Rochester International Airport and five miles from the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90), Exit 46.
From the Train Station
The Amtrak station is located in downtown Rochester, and is a 20-minute cab ride to RIT. There is no direct public transportation from the Amtrak station to RIT, however RTS bus 24 makes regular runs from the bus station to RIT.
From the Airport
Turn right onto Brooks Avenue, then right onto Interstate 390 South. From 390 take the Scottsville Road exit and turn right. Drive for approximately three miles until you cross the train tracks, then turn left at the big intersection onto Jefferson Road. Head east for approximately one-half mile to the main entrance to RIT on your right.
From the New York State Thruway
Take Exit 46 and proceed north on Interstate 390 to Exit 13 (Hylan Drive). Turn left on Hylan Drive and continue north. Make a left at the big intersection onto Jefferson Road. Proceed west on Jefferson Road for approximately two miles to the campus.

By Car
Using the main entrance off Jefferson Road, follow Lomb Memorial Drive and take the roundabout left towards D-lot and the Student Alumni Union. If you are visiting during regular business hours, you’ll need to stop at the information booth at the main entrance to get a parking pass.
Parking in D-Lot
After exiting the roundabout, this lot is immediately on your right, near the Ritter Memorial Ice Arena and the Gordon Field House. To get to the Student Alumni Union, follow the main road towards the Information Booth and the Sentinel. Enter the Student Alumni Union using the main entrance from the circle. Once you have parked, follow the walking directions below.
Walking
The club is located in room 04-A420 of the RIT Student-Alumni Union (Building 4). If you’re already on campus, walk in to the main entrance of the SAU. Walk towards the Ben & Jerry’s stand, turn right and go through the glass doors. Take the steps down to the A-Level. At the bottom of the stairs, bear right and walk down the corridor towards the hanging sign that says “MODEL RAILROAD CLUB and TECH CREW.” Turn left, and our door is on the left.
