Students, faculty, industry members, and anyone interested in learning more about statistical analysis in hockey are welcome to attend. There will be time for discussion and networking, as well as an informal social gathering that night.
Registration will be capped at 200 attendees. Please use the registration form below to reserve your spot, and please only register if you plan to attend. This year there is a registration fee or $25 for the general public and $5 for students (please register with your .edu email address). The registration will help pay for breakfast and lunch food at the conference as well as snacks and coffee during breaks. You should get an email notification when you register. If you did not, please check your spam folder and, if it is still not there, contact the organizers.
Media and hockey industry members can contact Matthew Hoffman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Ryan Stimson (email@example.com) if registration is closed.
This event is sponsored by the RIT College of Science and the RIT School of Mathematical Sciences.
*Note that ride sharing services such as Lyft and Uber have recently come to Rochester, so keep that in mind when making hotel and other travel arrangements.
If you are interested in presenting you must submit an abstract on or before Thursday August 31, 2017. Abstracts will be reviewed the following week and notification will be given to all presenters by September 8, 2017. To submit an abstract, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your abstract text, which should not be longer than 500 words. Last year there were both talks and posters and we plan to do the same this year. There are only a fixed number of oral presentation blocks, so not all abstracts will be accepted for talks. If you prefer a poster please make that clear in your submission. Though the primary focus is hockey, good work in other sports will be accepted and abstracts are encouraged.
