The RIT College of Science recognizes that increasing representation of women in academic and research positions must start in childhood and continue through undergraduate studies and faculty support. RIT Women in Science is one of several women's academic support and advocacy groups on campus.
"WISe" supports an annual summer program in applied science and math for rising eighth-grade girls. The group also organizes a speaker series throughout the year, "graduate school bootcamps" for current students, and university-level initiatives that benefit male and female faculty alike.
WISe participates in Advance RIT, an NSF-supported program to study and improve representation of women in academic professions.
