If you have previously acquired knowledge similar to a mathematics course taught at RIT but did not receive college credit (or AP/CLEP credit), you may be eligible to receive Credit by Examination.
In order to be eligible for credit by examination, you must have the following:
- At least a 3.0 GPA, or permission of the coordinator
- At least a B or better in the sequential course, or permission of the coordinator
- At least 80 percent of the questions correct to pass
- At most, 36 credit hours toward your degree with credit by exam
If you meet all of the above requirements, please contact Dr. Michael Radin to schedule an exam and/or with any questions. You must bring a current copy of your transcript prior to scheduling an exam.
Please note that there is a additional cost for every credit going over 20 credits for the semester the examination is taken.
