What are my responsibilities as an administrator?

You are responsible for ensuring that all web resources, computers, servers, network devices, and any other types of computing devices that you support comply with all published standards.

You are also responsible for prompt reporting of computer incidents to the ISO in accordance with the Computer Incident Handling Standard.

Computer Incident Handling Resources

  • Report a Computer Incident 
    • If you suspect a cybersecurity incident, immediately report it by calling the RIT Service Center at 585-475-5000, or on the web at help.rit.edu. When reporting by phone after hours, there is a prompt to speak to the on-call person in an emergency. Follow the cybersecurity incident handling instructions as described on the Information Security Office website.

Exceptions

The Information Security Office has provided a method for obtaining an exception to compliance with the published security standards.

NOTE: Please file exception requests through the RIT Service Center. Either use the link in the form above or log in to https://help.rit.edu/sp and choose Request a Service. Enter Exception in the search box. (Effective 9 June, 2020)
