J-1 On-Campus Work Authorization Request Form

After you submit this form, please allow 2-3 business days for processing of your J-1 Work Authorization Letter. ISS will email you when this letter is ready for you to pick up in the ISS office. You cannot begin your work until you have received this letter.

Please note that if RIT is not your sponsor (RIT did not issue your DS-2019) you will need to obtain approval in writing from your sponsor before engaging in any type of employment. This written approval must be forwarded to International Student Services before we may verify your eligibility to work on campus.

* Please note that on-campus employment is limited to 20 hours/week maximum while school is in session. Full time during official school breaks. Academic Training can be authorized on a full time basis for Co-op positions, or post-graduation positions.
