First-Year & Transfer Move-in Day
Fall 2019 move-in day for first year and transfer students is Tuesday, August 20 (unless you are participating in the Honors program). If you are a BS seeking Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing student you will move in prior to participate in a special day-long program the following day. You can view your confirmation and specific information regarding your housing assignment, roommate, and your scheduled move-in time at the housing portal when it becomes available. Please review the move-in guide for detailed information. Parking Your Vehicles on Move-In Day
- Residential students: if you are moving into the residence halls on move-in day, please follow the directions of Public Safety staff to the color-coded move-in staging areas. You should also refer to the housing portal, myhousing.rit.edu for detailed instructions regarding the move-in process.
- First year students bringing vehicles to stay on campus for the year: park in Lot B (after unloading your belongings at the residence hall).
- Commuter students: park in Lot G
- Families: park in Lots E, F,or H (after unloading your student’s belongings at the residence hall).

Shuttle buses will be running throughout campus from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. to assist families and students. The route will include the Gleason Circle (behind the Wallace Library), the residence halls, and the parking lots. Shuttles run a continuous loop and stop at designated locations. Shuttles will run to Barnes & Noble @ RIT from the residence halls (lot C) and Gleason Circle (behind the Wallace Library) from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For a full schedule, please view here.
