    Camp Coaching Staff:

Grow_RobRob Grow RIT’s all-time leader in coaching wins and 2006 RIT Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, begins his 26th season.  On April 15, 2015, Grow won his 400th career game at RIT and enters the 2017 season with 428 victories. He has led the Tigers to eight seasons with at least 20 wins, while averaging 19 wins per season since 1999.

In 2015, Grow and the Tigers enjoyed one of their finest seasons in program history, finishing with a 23-15 record, while advancing to the Liberty League Championship game for the first time. The Tigers set countless school records, including most runs scored (289), runs batted in (250), and walks (186). A school record eight players earned All-Liberty League honors, while a trio of Tigers earned ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region accolades. Last season, RIT won 18 games, as Will Gorman set single-season records for home runs, RBIs, hits, and total bases, while pitcher Brandon Cohall broke the university all-time mark for career shutouts.

Under Grow, the Tigers have re-written the record book. Since the Tigers moved to the Empire 8 conference in 2000, Grow has coached 100 All-Empire 8 selections.  He has also mentored 23 ABCA/Rawlings All-Stars and the 2007 Empire 8 Pitcher of the Year, Dylan Rees. Twenty-two players have been honored in four Liberty League seasons.

Grow is a 1988 graduate of RIT, where he played three years of baseball for the Tigers as an outfielder. He is among the career leaders in runs scored, walks and on-base percentage. In 1988, he set the Tiger single-season record with a .554 on-base percentage.  After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business, Grow was an assistant coach at Rush-Henrietta High School. In 1990, he helped guide the squad to a Section V title.

Keagle_GregGreg Keagle A former major league pitcher returns for his eleventh season as an assistant coach for the Tigers, where he will assist the pitchers.

Under Keagle's tutelage, the RIT pitching staff has enjoyed an excellent run over the past few seasons. In 2015, three pitchers earned All-Liberty League honors, while the staff as a whole recorded a 3.88 earned run average, walked just 98 batters in 308 2/3 innings, while holding opposing batters to a .256 average. Last year, the Tiger pitchers set a program record by striking out 230 batters.

A native of Corning, N.Y., Keagle pitched for Monroe Community College in the early 1990s. Keagle spent 11 seasons in professional baseball. He was a sixth round draft pick of the San Diego Padres in 1993, and in 1996, he made his major league debut with the Detroit Tigers. He went on to pitch three seasons in the majors, appearing in 46 games and making 23 starts.

     Leichtenberger_Tyler

Tyler Leichtenberger He returns for a fourth season as an assistant coach for the RIT baseball program. A former standout with the Tigers, Leichtenberger pitched at RIT from 2011-2014.

Leichtenberger pitched in various roles on the staff during his four years, including both as a starter and as a reliever. A two-time All-Liberty League selection, he holds school records for both saves in a season (7) and career (14), and is fourth all-time in appearances (49).

Upon finishing his playing career, Leichtenberger started his coaching career by joining the RIT staff as a graduate assistant in 2015, while also managing his hometown legion team the past three summers. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering in May 2015, Leichtenberger continued his role on the RIT staff as an assistant coach.

Potter_Adam Adam Potter Adam Potter begins his eighth season as an assistant coach for the RIT baseball team. Potter will work primarily with the middle infielders.

Potter graduated from Penfield High School in 2005. He was a three-year starter for the baseball team, playing both second base and shortstop. Potter graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 with a degree in anthropology.
