Come learn from one of the top college coaching staffs in the country at the Tiger Hockey School. Teaching hockey is our business. We pride ourselves on running a top notch hockey school where kids learn and have a lot of fun on and off the ice. The RIT Tiger Hockey players are involved in drills, instruction. They also act as off-ice counselors, assisting the coaches so kids get to spend time with their local heroes.

Brian Hills The Associate Head Coach with the RIT Tigers has just finished his 17th year at RIT. Prior to RIT, he was a head coach at SUNY Geneseo for four years where he coached the Ice Knights to a league title in 2004–05. In addition, Coach Hills worked as an assistant coach at his alma mater Bowling Green for seven years. Prior to coaching, he played eleven years professionally in Europe after graduating from Bowling Green in 1983 where he was a two time All-American and also a two-time Hobey Baker candidate.
Dave Insalaco Coach Insalaco has just finished his 13th season as an assistant coach with the RIT Tigers. Before coming back to his hometown, he worked two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. He also worked as an assistant at SUNY Geneseo for three seasons and for one season at Brockport, where he starred for four seasons with the Golden Eagles. Prior to his years at Brockport, he played two years with Adirondack in the United Hockey League.
Shane Madolora
Shane Madolora just finished his second year as Goalie Coach of the Tigers. Shane returned to the bench for the first time since 2012 after capping one of the most prolific goalie careers in RIT history. He went on to play professional hockey for four years following his time at RIT. His experience as a player and coach helped him develop into an exceptional goalie instructor. Shane has worked at the Tiger Hockey School for a number of years and parents have always been exceptionally happy with the job he has done with their kids at our hockey school.
Dear Player/Parent,
The summer of 2023 is fast upon us and we realize that you have many choices to make when it comes to choosing a hockey school. At RIT and “The Tiger Hockey School,” we feel that our school is the premier hockey school in Western New York. Our head instructors are all highly qualified college coaches who have their reputations to uphold. As college coaches, we take our instruction seriously— we do not allow our groups to exceed more than 28 players and provide constant attention to our students both on and off the ice.
This summer, we will be using the state-of-the-art turf field, Clark Gym, and the $25 million Student Life Center (recreation facility) for dry-land activities. These facilities allow us to offer activities such as basketball, soccer, and off-ice stick-handling. The kids at our school have fun and will be busy all day long!
We recognize that in having choices, part of the decision making depends upon cost. We try to keep our price as low as possible. In saying that, we feel that we offer the best instruction along with the best price for a hockey school of our stature—that’s why the majority of our students are repeat customers.
Please consider sending your son to the Tiger Hockey School this summer. You won’t be disappointed. Our schools fill up quickly and we are usually sold out by May 31st, so please respond as soon as possible.
