Counseling & Academic Advising

Counseling and Academic Advising (CAAS) is a team of counselors and academic advisors who provide personal counseling, career counseling, academic advising and consultation to all RIT deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

NTID Learning Center

The NTID Learning Consortium supports the NTID Learning Center (NLC) and the Sprint Relay Experimental Distance Learning/Access Demostration Lab. Consortium goals center on supporting: (1) the academic success of RIT/NTID students, and (2) experimenting with instructional and access technologies to support the learning of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

The NLC supports:

  • Tutoring in a variety of curricular areas
  • A general computer area, including wireless technology
  • Video resource and production facilities
  • Individual/group study areas and small classrooms
  • Educational workshops addressing skills, knowledge, and attitudes important for success in college and beyond

RIT/NTID Athlete Development Program

Mission: The RIT/NTID Athlete Development Program strives to help athletes find their inner greatness on and off the field, in and out of the classroom, and as high-character individuals in the community. The RIT/NTID Athlete Development Program provides support and training to improve quality of deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes’ experience as key members of their respective athletic programs.

Vision: The RIT/NTID Athlete Development Program works towards having deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes come in and see improvements in academic, athletic and personal success yearly.

NTID Center on Employment (NCE)

NCE assists deaf and hard-of-hearing students, graduating students and alumni with their job search and works with employers to facilitate hiring of highly qualified co-op students and graduates.
