Student Health Center Updates

The Student Health Center is open for appointments Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.,  though most appointments are now virtual telehealth visits. Please call 585-475-2255 to schedule an appointment. We can no longer accommodate walk-in visits due to COVID-19 concerns.

If you have concerns regarding your symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell) or particular exposure to COVID-19, please contact us and we can provide guidance regarding health monitoring and coordinate your care with local health departments. For general information regarding what RIT is doing about the novel coronavirus, see our dedicated web page.

When scheduling an appointment, the staff assistant will ask about the nature of the problem in order to schedule your appointment appropriately. Your information is confidential. If you prefer not to discuss details, you may say that the problem is “personal”.

    • Please let us know if your health concern is urgent.
    • Please let us know if you require a sign language interpreter.
    • 24 hours cancelation notice is appreciated so your appointment may be offered to someone else. If you fail to cancel your appointment, and do not show up, you may be charged a no-show fee.

The Student Health Center does not provide medical excuses for class absences. If you missed class as the result of an illness, let the professor know as soon as possible.

    Receipts and Appointment Handouts
If you need a receipt for insurance purposes or need to access handouts from your appointment, follow this easy step-by-step guide for Finding your Appointment Handouts and Receipt on the Portal.

If RIT is closed due to an emergency situation, the Student Health Center is also closed.
