Net Impact Wear it Wise

1:30p.m.-3p.m., LOW 1225-1235

The #WearItWise project focuses on raising the awareness of sustainable practices within the fashion industry. On April 8, Net Impact will have a guest speaker event with Sarah Pavia, Director of Marketing of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, with free lunch! We will be learning about sustainable clothing initiatives being implemented right here in the local community. Additionally, we'll be collecting used clothing to be donated to Goodwill. The participant that brings in the most clothing will receive a gift card. We've got a great list of prizes to be given out, including gift cards to Patagonia, Plato's Closet, and Second Look.

ESW Build Day - Taproot Rainwater Project

ESW-RIT is partnering with the Taproot Collective to construct a rainwater collection and watering system for the garden and greenhouse at First Farm Market. We plan to implement our design in a one day build—help us make this happen! Lunch provided.

SEAL E-Waste Recycling Day

8 a.m.-2 p.m., Sentinel

They will collect any broken or unused electronics to ensure they are recycled responsibly with E-Waste+. Most items will be accepted free of charge, except CRT TVs and monitors, which cost a fee to recycle.

Campus Nature Walk

10 a.m., Meet at RIT Community Garden (free parking at U-Lot)

Join RIT Engineers for a Sustainable World for a nature walk on RIT’s campus and join the City Nature Challenge. All are welcome (non-students included) to participate in the walk, which will last about an hour and a half. The walk will take you through forested areas of campus rich in biodiversity, including wildflowers and birds.
