Goodbye, Goodbuy!: Fixture-Upper

Come learn how to extend the life of your aging couch, or breathe new life into that old, broken-down desk! Learn basic woodworking, mending, and re-enforcement techniques from the upcycling masters, Goodbye Goodbuy!

 

Thursday 4/20

Climate Justice and Individual Action

10am - 11am, MOSAIC Center, SAU 2510

Aaron Mair, the first black president of the Sierra Club, will speak about climate justice and his path to activism. Mr. Mair's visit has been made possible by the Sierra Club's Rochester Regional group.

 

Outing Club: Leave No Trace Training & Bake Sale

12pm - 3pm Tiger Statue

RIT Outing Club is having a bake sale! Stop by our table next to the Tiger Statue to buy some yummy baked goods and learn about Leave No Trace.

 

Fast Forward Film Festival

Screening: 8:30pm - 10:00pm Ingle Auditorium

RIT will host a screening of films showcased during the 2017 Fast Forward Film Festival as a part of the organization’s inaugural On the Road Earth Week Series. The short films, which are created by both novice and veteran Rochester filmmakers, aim to raise awareness of environmental issues through a local lens. Many of this year’s finalists are from the RIT community.

Sustainable Carnival

Join Student Environmental Action League, Recover Rochester, Engineers for a Sustainable World, and the Student Dietetic Association for SEAL's annual Sustainable Carnival! Come enjoy free games, free vegetarian food, live entertainment, and DIY crafts.

 

FoodShare Center 2nd Anniversary Open House

3-5pm, 113 Riverknoll

There will be tours, tastings of healthy recipes that can be made with ingredients found at the FoodShare, and an unveiling of their new nutrition initiative. They will also be accepting donations.

Rochester March for Science

March begins at 10:30 in Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Park in Downtown Rochester.
