Campaign Success

Some examples of success of our blended campaign to date:

The MAGIC Center and MAGIC Spell Studios

The MAGIC Center and MAGIC Spell Studios

The MAGIC Center (Media, Arts, Games, Interaction, Creativity) and its spinoff, MAGIC Spell Studios, are just two of our proud campaign accomplishments to date—and they are perfect examples of what we can build when we leverage the combination of public, corporate, foundation, and individual gifts. MAGIC conducts applied research in multiple digital media areas and combines computer gaming with film and animation in a way no other university is doing. And, since MAGIC Spell Studios is a commercial component of the facility, it is open for businesses to take advantage of.

AMPrint Center

AMPrint Center

The Additive Manufacturing and Multifunctional Printing (AMPrint) Center at RIT, which opened in October 2016, was among the first research labs in the world committed to the development of next-generation multi-functional 3D printing technologies, materials and devices. The AMPrint Center will propel RIT and the Finger Lakes region to the forefront in accelerating the growth of this industry. New York State’s Center for Advanced Technology designation, along with the grant we received through the State’s Higher Education Capital Facilities Program and a significant commitment from our partners at Xerox Corporation, made it possible for us to build and equip this state-of-the-art facility. The Center will be a unique asset to companies for research, product development collaboration and the talent that they need to grow and compete globally. And our students are learning the skills that will make them marketable to today’s employers, and that is the model that will lead to jobs and renewed prosperity across the region and all Upstate.

Global Cybersecurity

Global Cybersecurity

Global Cybersecurity Institute—New York State’s Governor Andrew Cuomo announced in June 2018 a state grant of $5 million toward this new Institute. This tremendous level of support comes with a 3-to-1 matching expectation—or $15 million coming from individual and corporate philanthropy. Trustee and alumnus Austin McChord '07 has already pledged the first $8 million of that required match and we are working to secure the final $7 million to increase cybersecurity capabilities for our partners around the world.

Great things are happening at RIT with so much more to come. Please join us on our journey as we work together toward a shared destiny. We’re driving progress, we’re shaping what’s possible and we’re transforming the future by transforming RIT.
