The Day of Caring

Thursday, May 9, 2019

If you are interested in participating, please read ALL of the information below in order to register a team directly with United Way.

Register

Once on the site, you must enter the following information or the entry will not be submitted for RIT:

1. NAME OF COMPANY: RIT

2. COMPANY CONTACT NAME: Denise Acton

3. COMPANY CONTACT PHONE: 585-475-6169

4. COMPANY CONTACT EMAIL: denise.acton@rit.edu

From there, all the team information is up to you. You do not need to have all of the names of your team members to submit and get registered so PLEASE do not let that stop you from registering.

You must enter a “Team Name” so that each of the RIT teams can be differentiated from one another.

If you do not see a particular project listed for an agency at which you have previously volunteered:

You will need to call the contact person from the specific agency.

  • Ask them to register their project as soon as possible.
  • Ask them to request your team as a match.
  • Once they have done so, you will be able to complete the online match.
  • A match cannot be confirmed (or guaranteed) until it is registered on the site.

To return to your entry, click on “Manage my Account.”

After registering you will receive a confirmation both on the screen and via email to confirm that you have registered successfully. You also will receive a similar confirmation after you have elected your project match. Please note – your first confirmation is for registering your team, it does not ensure you have matched with a project. If you do not receive these emails within one day, please email dayofcaring@uwrochester.org.

After you’ve matched with a project, it would be a good idea for you to call the project contact person to discuss the project and work out the details. If you have any questions at all please feel free to call the United Way Day of Caring staff at 242-6492.
