Video Voices

On the issue of voting, legendary American Civil Rights activist Susan B. Anthony, once said, “Think your best thoughts, speak your best words.” Here’s your chance!

The RIT community was asked to share a personal video on social media using one of the following prompts and the hashtag #RITVotingIsPower to tell us their thoughts about the power of voting.

“I vote because…”
“I value my right to vote because…”
“Voting is powerful because…”
“My vote is my voice, which allows me to say…”

This social media campaign is part of RIT’s Moving Forward committee—a committee that aims to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, while acknowledging the history of voting rights activism and what is left to be done to ensure equal voting opportunities and political participation for women.
