Fall 2026 Graduate Student Orientation Schedule

Welcome to RIT, new Tigers! We’re here to help you get acquainted with the campus and all the people and places that make up our community! As you prepare for arrival, mark your calendars for the following orientation events.

August 17

Orientation Check-in and Campus Resource Fair
9:00 am–5:00 pm | Gordon Field House

Check in for orientation to receive your RIT t-shirt and graduate school lanyard, and meet members of the Graduate School team. Stop by the Graduate Admissions table to drop off your transcripts, then check out the Resource Fair to get your questions answered, meet members of the RIT community, and receive info about available RIT and area resources.

August 19

Graduate Career Bootcamp w/ Career Services & Co-op
1-4 pm | SHED -3350

Did you know employers start recruiting graduate students a year or more in advance? Set yourself up for success and get ready for the Fall recruiting season by attending our Graduate Career Bootcamp!

Graduate School Orientation
1-3 pm | SHED Glass Box Theater

A comprehensive introduction to services and resources offered by the Graduate School and across the RIT campus. Gain valuable insights into key resources you’ll need throughout your academic journey. Don’t miss this essential event to start your graduate school experience on the right foot!

August 20

Semester Kick-off Social
5-6:30 pm | SHED Atrium

Join graduate students, faculty, and staff at our welcome reception to celebrate the start of the semester! Various self-guided icebreaker activities will be provided to help you get to know fellow graduate students. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Department and Program-Specific Orientations

In addition to Graduate School orientation, you should attend your graduate program department orientation sessions. These orientations are often required. Times and locations will vary by program. View the complete list of department-specific events.
