The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) manages RIT’s official learning management system, myCourses (D2L Brightspace). We are excited to share that myCourses is undergoing an update site-wide soon!
We recently asked you for feedback on our academic technologies and one clear finding is that there is some frustration with the design and look of myCourses. Based on this feedback, we worked with several RIT faculty focus groups to review possible changes in tandem with a planned vendor refresh.
The three components which will change on May 11 are the:
- myCourses Site Home Page
- Course Default Home Page
- New Content Experience (previously the Content Tool)
Summer courses are already experiencing the updated look-and-feel. This is the final reminder that all updates will be applied system-wide on May 11, 2026 during the break between active semesters.
