Welcome, Tigers!

We are eagerly awaiting your arrival on campus this fall and are excited to welcome you to our Tiger family!

We will be sharing a lot of important information with you this summer, so please set up your RIT computer account and email as soon as possible if you have not done so already, and begin checking your email inbox often. For more information about how to set up your RIT account, check out the Account Set Up section of our New Student Checklist.

As you prepare for your arrival, be sure to check the Orientation website frequently, as well. The website serves as a central information hub, containing your new student checklist, links to past communications, a link to your virtual orientation experience, and much more!

As students ourselves, we understand that you are likely feeling excited but perhaps a bit anxious, as well. We want to assure you that our team is here to help you this summer as you prepare to launch this exciting new chapter. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to our team. As a transfer student, you have the opportunity to customize your New Student Orientation experience. All Transfer students must register for Transfer Orientation by Monday, Aug. 14. There are two Transfer Orientation options available to you:

Transfer Program #1

Transfer Program #1 is a one-day comprehensive program that focuses on getting acclimated to your new college/program, providing you with the information you need to ensure a smooth transition to RIT. Program #1 will be on Monday, Aug. 21 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Transfer Program #2

Transfer Program #2 consists of our one-day comprehensive program (Program #1 on Monday, Aug. 21) plus inclusion in Orientation Leader group activities throughout New Student Orientation week (Tuesday, Aug. 22 through Friday, Aug. 25). Orientation Leaders are upper-class students who have been specially trained to support your acclimation to RIT.

New Student Checklist

The New Student Checklist will help you navigate all of the required action items you must complete before you arrive at RIT. It is important to note that some action items contain mid-summer deadlines, so we encourage you to review the full checklist as soon as possible.

Virtual Orientation

Jumpstart your Orientation experience with our RIT Virtual Orientation. The virtual component of your Orientation experience will provide you with important information, including an introduction to services and resources, to help you successfully launch your RIT journey.

You must complete all virtual orientation modules before you arrive on campus for your in-person Orientation experience. Feel free to go through this program at your own pace. If you need to take a break, you can log back in at any time and pick up where you left off.

Write down your questions and bring them with you to Orientation (Aug. 22-27). The Orientation team is eager to answer any questions you may have about your RIT journey.
