Hey Transfer Tiger!

Your RIT journey is about to kick into high gear! Now that you're officially part of the Tiger family, get ready for the next chapter as we guide you through everything you need to know before you arrive on campus.

As you get ready for your RIT adventure, make sure to keep a close eye on your RIT email inbox! It's going to be your go-to spot for important updates, need-to-know information, and some exciting opportunities popping up throughout the summer. You won't want to miss out!

For now, let’s focus on the basics.

New Student Checklist

Check mark appears on a piece of paper with the word Checklist written on it

Your first official RIT assignment: explore the New Student Checklist! This is your go-to resource for all required pre-arrival tasks. Pay close attention – some of these have deadlines in the middle of summer, so get acquainted with the full list sooner rather than later.

Pro-Tip: Keep yourself on track with the self-tracking checklist. Use the login credentials you used to manage your RIT application, not your g.rit.edu email credentials.

Transfer Orientation

Choose the right orientation for you! We offer two programs tailored to different levels of prior college experience. Review the options below and register by Friday, August 1. Contact the Orientation team if you need help deciding.

  • Transfer Program Option #1
Transfer Program #1 is for students with at least one year of prior college experience, offering ongoing connection opportunities through events and speakers beginning during TigerFest and continuing throughout the fall semester. Highlights include targeted events and a Transfer Appreciation Week, with attendance at all sessions being optional.

  • Transfer Program Option #2
Transfer Program #2 is for students transferring to RIT who have not completed a full year of study at another institution. This program follows RIT’s traditional New Student Orientation experience with a unique twist. Orientation groups will be created for transfer students and led by an Orientation Leader (OL) who also started at RIT as a transfer student.

With Housing deadlines just around the corner, you might have some questions about Housing, Dining, Parking, and other aspects of life here on campus. The RIT Service Center (RSC) is the place to go for answers to these questions and more!

Get connected

Don't miss out on connecting with future classmates, finding your people (gamers, creators, etc.), and getting real answers from current students. Over 60% of you are already there, so if you're one of the 40% who haven't downloaded ZeeMee yet, we will see you soon! 😉
