Beyond Fashion 2023

Join us on Friday, Dec. 8, in RIT's MAGIC Spell Studios for the Vignelli Center for Design Studies' third annual celebration of design and community, "Beyond Fashion."

Organized by students, this fashion show event weaves together a diverse collection of garments crafted by five local Rochester designers and wearables developed by students in RIT's metals and jewelry design and industrial design programs — all inspired by artifacts from the Vignelli archives. The theme for this year's event is, "The grid is everything."

AfteRIT: A Career and Life Skills Retreat for Graduating Students

When: January 12, 2024, 8:00 am–7:00 pm
Where: Gosnell Building

Participants in the AfteRIT Retreat will engage in “choose your own” workshops throughout the day where you will learn life and career skills (eg. finances 101, how to build and maintain a network, how to ace an interview, and advocating for what you need). All meals will be provided including a welcome breakfast, networking lunch, and catered dinner. There will also be opportunities throughout the day to get real-world advice about how to thrive in graduate school, medical school, and industry.

Author and historian Ibram X. Kendi will be the keynote speaker at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Expressions of King’s Legacy, an annual program dedicated to celebrating the life and impact of Martin Luther King Jr.
