EmpowHER: Engaging Meaningful Programs & Outcomes With HER

When: February 21, 2024, 12:30 pm–2:00 pm
Where: Student Alumni Union Room/Location: MOSAIC, Room 2510 

Undergraduate and Graduate students are welcome to join Counseling and Psychological Services therapists, Patrice Anderson, LMHC, Dr. Tiarra Mitchell, Psy.D., and Shantél Richardson, LMHC, and Gena Willis from DDI/MCAS on Wednesdays for this weekly group meeting aimed at giving RIT students a safe space to process feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Sessions will include topics and crafts regarding self-love, painting, vision boards, games, and more!

Electrical engineering faculty member recognized with CAREER Award

Yan, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at RIT, is building a more coordinated system to manage different variables affecting grid energy generation, storage, transmission, and distribution—from extreme weather events to the addition of solar and wind power. Results can streamline an involved and complex process to ensure resources are available, regardless of increased demands, and provide operators the flexibility to make real-time changes when situations call for more power.

Team’s research method becomes industry model

Risa Robinson ’89 (mechanical engineering), ’95 MS (imaging science) and members of the Respiratory Technologies Laboratory found moderate toxicity rates in e-cigarette liquids but also saw that e-cigarette users consumed more to compensate for the lower nicotine hit—making them as risky for some users as traditional cigarettes.

Graduate Showcase: Call for Submissions

Graduate students! We invite you to submit your proposals to present at the Graduate Showcase.

Submit to present posters and/or oral presentations at the Graduate Showcase where your work will be acknowledged and celebrated along with fellow RIT graduate students. The highest ranking presentations will be recognized at the Keynote and Awards Celebration on Thursday, April 11th, and will receive a monetary award.

Deadline: February 28, 2024, 11:59 pm EST.
