The deadline to submit your 3MT talk (Zoom or YouTube link) and presentation slide for the 2026 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition is October 9, 2026. The competition is open to current RIT PhD students who have passed their qualifying exam or are in their third year of study or greater. Visit the 3MT competition page for details and to submit.

U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) aims to recruit promising individuals to pursue graduate study in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Program Benefits

  • Financial support for three years (within a five-year period)
  • Stipend: $37,000
  • Cost of Education allowance payment in lieu of all tuition and mandatory fees: $16,000 per year (paid to the institution)
  • No service requirement after completion of the fellowship
