AWARE-AI: Fall Mentor Café

Hosted by the AWARE-AI NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program in the Golisano Atrium, this Mentor Café event welcomes AWARE-AItTrainees and other RIT graduate students. Participating students will have the opportunity to interact with postdocs and early career researchers in a fun and interactive format.

Fram Signature Lecture 2023: Thinking Critically about Scientific Innovations + Medical Policy

How do advances in science affect health policies and interventions? Do political and social factors either limit or advance the health of certain populations?  Medical anthropologist and science and technology scholar Natali Valdez, Ph.D., draws on her research in race, gender, and power in the context of scientific knowledge and her recent book “Weighing the Future: Race, Science and Pregnancy Trials in the Postgenomic Era” for a talk focused on the relationship between emergent science and health policy.

RIT researchers pioneer solutions for degenerative disc disease and back pain

Rochester Institute of Technology researchers are improving non-invasive treatment options for degenerative disc disease, an ailment that impacts 3 million adults yearly in the U.S., according to the Mayo Clinic. Using state-of-the-art gene editing technology in mesenchymal stem cells, the researchers will add to the growing field of regenerative medicine, the process of producing cellular therapies to alleviate pain and lack of mobility.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program | Revit in Sweden



Course Term: Spring 2024
Travel Dates: May 18-June 6, 2024
Credits: 3

Students will learn state-of-the-practice software, Revit, used by architects, engineers, and interior designers to create 3D building designs.
During their three weeks at Malmo University in Sweden, students will explore the Scandinavian region of Northern Europe and the city of Malmo, which has a wide range of architectural styles.
