efficient way to successfully place phasor measurement units (PMUs) on an
electric power grid?&nbsp; The graph theoretic approach to modeling this
problem is known as power domination.&nbsp; Mathematically speaking,
power domination has a great deal in common with the well-known graph
theory areas of domination and zero forcing, and interestingly, was
introduced earlier than zero forcing. In this talk, I will talk about
failed power domination which is the study of how many PMUs can be placed
on the grid without effectively monitoring the grid, as well as power
domination reconfiguration, which is the investigation of when one PMU
configuration can be changed into another under certain
 constraints.</span></span></span></p>
