David Edborg, patrol major in the Department of Public Safety, competed in the World Association of Benchers and Deadlifters national competition in Portland, Maine, on May 14. He took first place in two categories, Law Enforcement/Firefighter ages 56-62, and Open Masters, ages 56-60. He broke his previous New York State record with a deadlift of 458 pounds.

RIT Athletics mourns loss of Hall of Famer Bill BjornessThe RIT athletics family mourns the loss of two-sport legend Bill Bjorness, who died on July 22. Bjorness, a two-sport standout with both the men’s lacrosse and hockey programs, was a 1986 graduate of the university, earning induction into the RIT Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999.
