At RIT, community is more than a concept—it's how we thrive. As a new graduate student, you’ll find countless ways to get involved, whether by pursuing your interests, joining collaborative projects, or simply meeting others who care about what you do. From academic groups to social gatherings and service opportunities, there’s something for everyone to help you feel connected and make a meaningful impact.

Get Involved with Graduate Student Groups

American Physical Society (APS) -RIT Chapter
The RIT Chapter of APS connects graduate students and postdocs through social, outreach, and research-sharing events—all with low time commitment and access to APS and RIT event funding. E-board members also have the chance to travel to Washington, D.C. for free for the APS Annual Leadership Meeting and Congressional Visits Day to advocate for science funding by meeting with representatives. It's a high-impact, low-commitment way to find community and make a difference.
