Get RIT Ready

The countdown to RIT is on. As we head into the final weeks of summer, now’s the time to finish up the important to‑dos, gather the essentials, and make sure you’re ready for day one.

Now is a great time to revisit the New Student Checklist. Review what tasks remain and check off the items you've already completed.

Live ZeeMee Event:
Ask Me Anything with Residence Life and Orientation

Monday, August 3 | 7 p.m. | ZeeMee App

Get ready for a live ZeeMee event designed to help you crush your first week at RIT. Whether you’re already packing your bags or still feeling those pre-arrival jitters, we’re here to make sure you land on campus with confidence. Now is the time to ask those final questions. Let’s get you ready to hit the ground running.

Gather the essentials

Make your transition as smooth as possible with a little pre-arrival preparation. Your future self will thank you.

  • Start by gathering essential academic supplies–notebooks, pens, etc. Information about your academic course materials will be sent to you at the beginning of August.

  • If you plan to live on campus, check out the What to Bring Checklists and health and wellness packing list.

  • Organize your important documents (insurance card, driver’s license, etc.) so they are easy to access when you need them. If you’re planning to apply for an on-campus job, review the acceptable I-9 documents ahead of time so you can bring the necessary items with you to campus.
Student sketches in a notebook, students move belongings into a residence hall, and students study together outdoors on campus.
