The deadline to submit your 3MT talk (Zoom or YouTube link) and presentation slide for the 2026 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition is October 9, 2026. The competition is open to current RIT PhD students who have passed their qualifying exam or are in their third year of study or greater. Visit the 3MT competition page for details and to submit.

Managing Stress and Anxiety in Graduate School Workshop

When: September 18, 2026, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Where: Office of Graduate Studies - Conference Room

Do you struggle with anxiety like so many of us? Join CaPS provider, Thomas Peechatt, LMHC-D, for a one-time didactic workshop aimed at defining the experience of anxiety and developing skills for managing it effectively. This 90-minute workshop combines 3 focus areas dedicated to: 1) understanding anxiety, 2) introducing a method for slowing down and disentangling the experience of anxiety, and 3) developing alternative, healthier responses. By the end of the workshop, you will have the tools to create your own individualized plan for managing anxiety.

Community Service Fair

When: September 11, 2026, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Where: Fireside Lounge and 1829 Room

The Community Service Fair brings together the RIT and Greater Rochester communities to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to meet representatives from various local community-based organizations and learn how they can make an impact in their time at RIT. Over 40 community-based organizations will be in attendance and are looking to connect with students interested in volunteering. Find Your Greater Good with the Community Service Fair!

First-year Rochester Institute of Technology student Carlos Gaston Lopez sees a future in technology. The first-generation college student is working toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science and master’s degree in cybersecurity, thanks to RIT’s Destler/Johnson Rochester City Scholars program.
