Elizabeth Ayers Gibson

Elizabeth Ayers Gibson

Elizabeth Ayers Gibson is a sonographer at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She teaches sonography to radiology residents and ultrasound interns and performs diagnostic ultrasound exams.

She is a member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and in 2004 earned SDMS’ Advanced Practice Sonographer credentials. Fewer than 150 practicing sonographers nationwide hold this distinction.

In 2002, Ms. Gibson completed her Master of Science in Secondary Education degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has had several case study articles published in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. In 2003, she received the Outstanding Employee Award from Virginia Mason Medical Center, and in 2005 her radiology department was awarded Outstanding Team at the Center.

She has been a volunteer advocate and board member of Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services.

Ms. Gibson has a bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography (1998) and a master of science degree in secondary education (2002), both from Rochester Institute of Technology.
