In just a few short weeks, you will be arriving here on campus where you will be spending a lot of your time. Take this time to familiarize yourself with RIT’s dining and transportation options, so you are prepared when you arrive. 

Eating on Campus

Fuel your body and mind with RIT Dining's diverse menus, from international cuisine and house-made specials to unique dietary offerings and freshly baked desserts. Dining has ten restaurants, five coffee shops, two convenience stores, venue concessions, a full-service catering department, and a food truck.

Build-your-own-menus provide customization to meet your preferences and dietary needs, and convenience stores have everything you need, including fresh fruits, high-quality meats, health care, laundry, and toiletry items. Everything is steps from your classes, recreation facilities, and lounge areas.

Eliminating the Nine Common Allergens

Gracie's is our largest and only all-you-care-to-eat facility. It is a peanut and tree-nut-free (except coconut) facility. Simply Eats, an allergen-free station, serves gluten-free and vegan entrées daily. It eliminates nine common allergens: milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts (except coconut), peanuts, sesame, wheat, and gluten.

Kosher Eating

Loaded Latke, a STAR-K® kosher-certified location with an RIT alum as our Mashgiach (Kosher Supervisor), is opening this fall. This Kosher deli will serve handcrafted sandwiches with premium meats and house-made sides, including bagel chips, pickles, matzo ball soup, potato salad, and latkes.

We recommend you schedule an appointment for a consultation, nutritional counseling, support for an eating concern, or general nutrition questions with RIT Dining's registered dietitian, Marisa Bellanca.

Commuting to Campus

Get connected with Off-Campus and Commuter Services through social and educational events like Breakfast in the Basement, an off-campus housing fair, and informal gatherings in the Commuter Lounge. The Commuter Lounge, located on the A-level of the Campus Center, has community space, computer and printer access, free coffee, a microwave, a refrigerator, games, locker sign-out options, and more. Consider it your home away from home!

You can save money on food purchases with a meal plan or by adding Dining Dollars to your RIT ID card. Dining Dollars are accepted in all dining facilities and vending machines. Meal plans start as low as $750 per semester or $47 per week, and you do not pay New York state sales tax on purchases.

Parking and Transportation

RIT has on-campus transportation services to make your everyday commute to, from, and around campus easier.

  • Campus Shuttles
    Campus shuttles help you get from place to place, both on and off campus.

  • Parking Permits
    Parking permit options differ for students living in RIT Housing and those commuting to campus. Learn more about student parking permit options to find out which option is best for you.

  • ParkMobile
    ParkMobile
     is a mobile payment service for hourly or daily parking on campus. You can set up an account and pay via the free ParkMobile app or by calling a toll-free number. No pay stations, tickets or cash/coins are required. As your paid parking time comes close to expiration, ParkMobile can notify you via text with the option to extend your time right from your smartphone.   
 

Important Reminders

  • Set up your RIT email account
    If you have not yet activated your RIT account, please do so immediately by following the account activation instructions that were sent to the email address supplied on your admissions application. We are no longer sending important RIT email communications, including New Student Newsletters, to your non-RIT email account. For detailed account management information or to contact the RIT Service Center, visit help.rit.edu.

  • Start your virtual orientation 
    Please remember to complete your RIT Virtual Orientation. This mandatory orientation experience provides you with important information, including an introduction to services and resources, and will help you successfully launch your RIT journey. You should complete all modules by August 22.
