I hope your semester is off to a great start! It has been great seeing you on campus and we are eager to see you perform this year. We have some exciting upcoming events and announcements in this email so be sure to review the information below and register for events in CampusGroups. Don’t miss out on your free ticket to several amazing shows happening soon in Rochester!

As a reminder, we have four Performing Arts Scholarship Guides (replacing what were formerly known as coaches) this year. These faculty from the School of Performing Arts are here to guide you through your performing arts experience at RIT. Please feel free to reach out to them with any questions about performing arts on and off campus.

NTID Performing Arts is looking for actors to self-film short (less than 3 minute) videos for use in our fall production. Participants will be paid $100 Videos are due by September 15, 2023.  If interested, please send a resume and headshot as soon as possible to ntidperformingarts@rit.edu

Rochester City Ballet is in need of "Party Parents" for this year's production of "The Nutcracker". Rehearsals will be from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturdays at Rochester City Ballet (1326 University Avenue) beginning Saturday, October 7th until the completion of performances on December 10th. Reach out to RCB Production Department production@rochestercityballet.org with questions.

Meet the Mentors

Performing Arts is abundant all over campus. RIT's faculty and staff (including those outside of the College of Liberal Arts) have a variety of performing arts interests ranging from bagpipes to bluegrass and stage design to dance. Our mentors are available for you to contact if you have a particular question or if you have an interest in learning more about their performing arts experiences. Meet all of the Performing Arts Mentors > 

Steve Galbraith is the Curator of RIT’s Cary Graphic Arts Collection in Wallace Library. For nearly a decade, he was the guitarist and songwriter for the reggae band Noble Vibes, sharing festival stages with legends such as The Wailers, Toots and the Maytals, Third World, and Inner Circle.  He currently contributes to Rochester’s Ignite Reggae Band and Buffalo’s Neville Francis & the Reggae Exchange. In addition to reggae, Steve has performed in other genres, including psychedelic rock, trip-hop, and bluegrass. He also enjoys producing music and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone learning Logic X.
