Innovator’s Hour is a research organization solely dedicated to innovation of all disciplines with special emphasis on entrepreneurship.
The group is full of like-minded individuals who want to make a difference to society through innovating new products and/or services. The organization is fully supported by the Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the members who regularly attend. Meetings happen Fridays at 4:00 in the Student Innovation Hall.
As a group we tackle many different ideas in a hands on approach. As an organization we can obtain specific materials pertaining to student interest projects that we can make prototypes and models from. We also do lots of research into helping students understand the feasibility of their ideas. This includes running experiments and getting in touch with researchers in the appropriate fields.
Innovator’s Hour had many amazing projects come out of this club including this year’s Tiger Tank winner. We are open to accepting new members at all times as our meetings are very fluid and open.
“Our mission is to offer a structured framework where enthusiastic like-minded individuals can meet every week, improve their network, discuss business and innovative ideas and progress their ideas with the help provided by the coaches associated to each and every willing member.” - Mark Brown (RIT Simone Center Student Ambassador and President of Innovator's Hour)
Benefits of Innovator’s Hour
Benefits for students include, easy access to business coaches from the Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. We also offer weekly student coaching during our meetings lead by our vice president. This allows for students with very low level ideas help in getting them written down for the first time or gaining their first outside feedback. Talks will also be given by current entrepreneurs with outside experience as well as faculty members of RIT and other colleges.
It is a great first step in getting your idea made into a reality. So please join us Friday’s at 4:00 in the Simone Center!
