There is also onsite parking available for student housing residents at the Dubai Silicon Oasis student accommodation. DSO provides a daily weekday housing shuttle that provides roundtrip transportation between housing and campus.

The office of Student Affairs oversees commuter transportation for students to various regions in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman. You must submit the Transportation Request Form if you wish to sign up for transportation. You will be charged for transportation on a semester basis. There are fixed pick-up and drop-off points based on all students who request transportation.

Please note that all bus service routes are determined based on the locations and on a first-come first-service basis.

We strive to accommodate all transportation requests at an economic price but in some cases, if an address is out of the bus route it will not be accommodated. The sooner we receive your transportation request, information will be shared with you, however, the final bus routes are determined closer to the start of the semester. Confirmation emails with the bus details and your confirmed seat on the bus will be sent 2 weeks prior to the semester starting.

If you move while using the service, depending on your new address, it is not guaranteed that you will still be able to use the service. To stop using the transport service, you must email the office of Student Affairs.

Commuter transportation deadline information: Any commuter transportation requests received from current students after the deadline dates are subject to the 500.00 AED late fee. New students are exempt from this late fee for their first semester. The deadline dates are the same annually:

Fall Deadline – July 15th

Spring Deadline – December 15th

• As a courtesy, there is a two-week trial time from starting on the first day of classes for new students using the commuter service.  The service must be canceled before 12:00 pm on the last Friday of the two-week period (10th day) of the semester.

• The trial period charge is fixed and does not change based on the number of times the student has used the service.

• If you cancel transportation after the deadlines, there will be no refund. Cancellation must occur either by email Student Affairs Office (dubaistudentaffairs@rit.edu) or in person.

• There is no transport service provided in the Summer semester.

Please note that all current/returning students need to request commuter transportation on a semester basis or for the entire academic year in the Fall semester. The drivers will not pick you up unless you have officially requested transportation.

• One payment per semester; at the start of the semester. Transport fees are non-refundable.

• One-way fees are calculated at 70% of the Round Trip.

• Fixed stops per route.

• All fees are subject to change.

Daily Abu Dhabi Transportation for RIT Students

For our students who reside in Abu Dhabi, there is a separate bus service. Below are the details:

• Transportation is provided from Monday to Friday

• Student pick-up locations are at the nearest bus or taxi stop

• There are 2 morning pick-up timings (Abu Dhabi to Dubai) - starting at 6 am and 8 am - the exact pick-up time for specific locations will be shared by the driver.

• There are 4 drop-off timings from RIT to Abu Dhabi - 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 4:30 pm, and 6:00 pm.

• The driver will not wait more than 2 minutes for the student in the parking area (Parking 3 behind Innovation Center) and will be forced to leave latecomers to ensure timeliness.

• Every student is responsible for calling the driver for any inquiry about bus timings and especially confirming their daily return time.

RIT Dubai does not coordinate this service directly so all communication about timings (class schedules, holidays, and exams) should be discussed directly with the driver.

Weekend Bus to Abu Dhabi for Student Accommodation Residents

For our housing students who reside in Abu Dhabi, a weekend bus to Abu Dhabi and back to Dubai is available. Below are the details.

• The bus will depart from Abu Dhabi on Monday early morning - the exact pick-up time will be confirmed by the driver when he drops you off on Friday afternoon.

• A security deposit of AED 500 (refundable by the company)

• Monthly fees of AED 375; bus used on a weekly basis (Monday morning and Friday afternoon) 

• There are 2-morning pick-up timings (Abu Dhabi to Dubai) - 6 am and 8 am - exact time to be shared by the driver

• RIT Dubai does not coordinate this service directly so all communication about timings (class schedules, holidays, and exams) should be discussed directly with the driver.

• Students are required to carry a copy of the contract with them at all times while using the service.
