#1 - Plan to Participate in Pre-Arrival Events

  • Register for Session #2 at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 >

Participate in the ZeeMee Live Event: Ready, Set, Hello!

#2 - Gather the Essentials

You’re about to enter an exciting new chapter, and whether you're moving into a residence hall or commuting, preparation is key.

  • Start by gathering essential academic supplies–notebooks, pens, etc. If you’re thinking about getting a new computer, check out RIT’s computer recommendations. Information about your academic course materials will be available in next week’s newsletter.
  • If you plan to live on campus, check out our What to Bring Checklists and health and wellness packing list.
  • Organize your important documents (insurance card, driver’s license, etc.) so they are easy to access when you need them. If you’re planning to apply for an on-campus job, review the acceptable I-9 documents ahead of time so you can bring the necessary items with you to campus.
  • Thinking about bringing a car to campus? Review the required next steps, permit eligibility, and purchase details on the RIT Parking website.

#3 - Sign up for Welcome Days Emergency Alerts

Important announcements regarding inclement weather emergencies on Move-In and Welcome Days will be communicated through our text alert system.

Text RITORI to 888777 to receive important information and alerts.

Please encourage any family members or friends who will be on campus with you to sign up for weather alerts, as well.

#4 - Resident Students: Familiarize Yourself with the Move-in Process

Confirm your appointment time in the myLife portal. It is crucial to arrive on your selected day and time in order to alleviate congestion and provide the best move-in experience for all.

Once you’ve confirmed your appointment time, watch the Move-In Day Video so you'll know exactly what to expect when you arrive for your move-in appointment.
