AWARE-AI NRT: Fall AI Hackathon

During the hackathon, graduate students will create a deployable AI system that exemplifies the principles of human awareness and responsibility and demo what they created.

Hosted by the AWARE-AI NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program, this free competition welcomes NRT Trainees and other RIT graduate students. The workshop requires registration. Please register by emailing awareainrt@rit.edu.

Winter Wear Clothes Drive and Winter Wear Shopping Trip being Organized by Woman in Graduate School (WIGS)

Clothes Drive
Winter is fast approaching, and preparations are underway for the season. Women in Graduate School (WIGS) wants to collect winter wear to help new graduate students who don’t have the resources to buy all the necessities.

The primary drop-off collection will be at the Graduate School Office (University Services Center, Building 87, Office - 3100). Other drop-off boxes can be found at Gosnell, Hugh Carey Hall, and Golisano. The donation deadline will be Monday, October 31st. 

Please donate new or gently used winter wear such as coats, scarves, gloves & boots. Graduate students will be invited to pick out donated items on a first-come-first-served basis. Leftover items will be donated to a local charity to help those in need.

Shopping Trip
A few people are going winter wear shopping on Saturday, October 1st to the Waterloo Outlets (budget-friendly, 45 min from campus). This is a coordinated carpool event and depends on the number of drivers. Please keep in mind that SPACES ARE LIMITED to the number of cars going. Non-drivers will be selected on a first-come-first-served method. Please fill out this form to reserve your space.

If you have a car, please consider giving a ride to fellow students.

Faculty Lead Study Abroad Program, Transnational Workshop: Digital Creation ‘Beyond the Screen’ in Paris, France

This innovative, interdisciplinary, transnational workshop-laboratory focuses on the latest stage in a long history of creative experimentation with computers and computer technologies in their capacity to generate literary, artistic, and interactive experiences that link human participants, computers, and immersive environments, both physical and virtual, in new ways.

No pre-requisites. Open to all undergraduate majors (3rd year and above) and grad students. No pre-requisites, no French language required, no prior technical skills needed.
