Graduate Student Orientation Events

Campus Resource Fair
Date and Location: Friday, January 9th, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM | SHED Atrium
Stop by the Resource Fair to have your questions answered, meet members of the RIT community, and receive information about available RIT and local resources and services. No registration required.

Welcome Info Session & Semester Kickoff | SHED Glassbox Theater
Date and Location: Friday, January 9th, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Join us for an introduction to services and resources offered by the Graduate School and across the RIT campus. Gain valuable insights into key resources you’ll need throughout your academic journey. Don’t miss this essential event to start your graduate school experience on the right foot! A welcome mixer to celebrate the start of the spring semester will immediately follow the Info Session. Grab a slice of pizza and get to know fellow graduate students, faculty, and staff!

Important Reminders

Health Forms Due - Before you can start your RIT journey, you must complete and submit your health history and immunization forms. Get your immunization records today from your doctor and submit your forms online at wellnessportal.rit.edu.

University Closure - The university will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026. Staff will be unavailable during this time and will respond to inquiries as soon as possible after reopening.

 

Virtual Orientation

Virtual Orientation is the online portion of your orientation and allows you to review the content at your own pace and before you arrive on campus. It presents important information on services and resources to assist you in your graduate studies at RIT. Completion of all modules is required for all grad students. Complete the required Virtual Orientation as soon as possible. You can access and refer to information in the platform throughout the fall semester.

Graduate Student Checklist

The Accepted Graduate Student Checklist will help you navigate important information such as enrollment next steps, arrival information, financial aid, campus services, and more. If you haven't done so already, be sure to check out the detailed next steps you need as a new RIT Tiger by selecting your applicable Accepted Graduate Student Checklist (US Student, International Student, or Online Student). Health, Wellness & Recreation

RIT offers a range of services and programs to support your physical and mental well-being, from medical care and nutrition support to counseling resources and stress-relief activities. Wellness offerings include workshops, therapy dog sessions, sleep and social connection programs, and nutrition appointments.

Staying active also supports your health and academic success. RIT provides recreation options for all experience levels, including intramural and club sports, fitness centers, swimming, indoor rock climbing, wellness classes, and campus nature trails.
