THE RIT VISION, MISSION, AND VALUES

It is our vision that RIT will lead higher education in preparing students for successful career development over their lifetimes.

RIT's mission is to provide technology-based educational programs for lifelong career development. Teaching, learning, and scholarship are our central enterprises. We vigorously pursue new and emerging career areas and develop curricula in response to changing technology and social conditions. We are committed to diversity and student-centeredness, and we are distinguished by our innovative and collaborative spirit. Internal and external partnerships expand our students' educational experiences and career prospects, as well as enlarge and enhance RIT's relationships with alumni, industry, business, and the world community.

Our mission incorporates the following values:

• teaching excellence, learning effectiveness, and overall student growth and development;
• high standards and recognition for faculty and student scholarship;
• the benefits of pluralism;
• proactive anticipation of and engagement with evolving technologies;
• effective communication, contact, and partnering with business, alumni, industry, government, and the community;
