FRANK RITTER ICE ARENA
The Ice Arena is operated by the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics at RIT. It has an occupancy of 2,100 with ice and 3,000 without ice. The arena is the home of the RIT Tigers Men's Division I Hockey Team and the Women's Division III Hockey Teams, two of the nation's top NCAA hockey teams and one of the best-known figure skating clubs in the country, the Genesee Figure Skating Club. The Ritter Arena supports:
- Wellness Activity classes to students in recreational skating
- Lunch-time recreational skating for faculty, staff, students and alumni (photo ID required)
- Intramural activity in both hockey and broomball
- Men's & Women's Varsity home games and High school tournaments
- Various exhibitions and ice shows
- Open skating for the community-at-large
- Learn to skate programs for people of all ages
- Hockey Camps and skating schools
Off-season activities (without ice) include special events, rock concerts, exhibitions, and the annual RIT Commencement ceremonies. The Ice Rink facility is one of the leading ice rink operations in Upstate New York and provides an outstanding opportunity for those at RIT to enjoy the sport of ice skating.
