RIT Resources for New Faculty
GALLERY r
Gallery r is the College of Imaging Arts & Science's metro showcase for contemporary art, located at 100 College Avenue, Rochester, NY. Serving as an educational laboratory site, classroom, and a visual arts venue for RIT faculty, students and alumni, the gallery highlights contemporary and experimental art, crafts, design, animation, film, and photography. The pedestrian-friendly r window project can be viewed before entering the gallery. Each 6-week show encourages alumni and RIT students to create a theme-based, mini exhibit specifically for our street-side viewers. Inside, competitions and invitationals provide a dynamic 12 month calendar of visual and performance experiences for the Rochester cultural public. Located in Rochester’s urban Neighborhood of the Arts district, Gallery r is highly visible during First Fridays open houses, exhibition and film artists receptions, performances, lectures, demonstrations, as well as for collaborative events with Lumiere Photo and Spectrum Gallery next door. An annual Spring Gallery r benefit supports the gallery's operation and features outstanding artwork and gift selections for each ticket buyer. Don't miss this delightfully unique arts gala.
