INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
RIT’s athletic program has been highly ranked nationally over the years. Over 600 Tiger athletes take part in 24 varsity sports programs each year. Team accomplishments include NCAA appearances in Men’s Soccer (14), Women’s Volleyball (10), Men’s Cross Country, Men’s Basketball (7), Men’s Lacrosse (13), Women’s Ice Hockey (2) and national championships in Division II and III Men’s Ice Hockey. RIT made the move to Division I Men’s Ice Hockey in 2005 and has won four Atlantic Hockey Association regular season championships over the last five seasons. In 2010, the Tigers captivated the sporting world, advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four in just their fifth season as a Division I program. During the 2010-11 school year, 15 student-athletes earned All-American honors, and three were Academic All-Americans.
