INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
RIT's intercollegiate athletics program has been highly ranked nationally over the years. Over 600 Tiger student-athletes take part in 24 varsity sports programs each year. Team accomplishments include NCAA appearances in Men's Soccer (14), Women's Volleyball (10), Men's Cross Country, Men's Basketball (7), Men's Lacrosse (14), Women's Ice Hockey (3) and national championships in Division II and III in Men's Ice Hockey and recently captured the Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship. RIT made the move to Division I Men's Ice Hockey in 2005 and has won four Atlantic Hockey Association regular season championships over the last six seasons. In 2010, the Tigers captivated the sporting world, advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four in just their fifth season as a Division I program. The women's team will be moving to Division I at the start of the 2012-2013 season. During the 2011-12 school year, 8 student-athletes earned All-American honors, and five were Academic All-Americans.
