The 196-acre Mount Hope Cemetery, founded in 1838, is the first municipal cemetery in the U.S.

Mount Hope holds marble, bronze, and granite monuments shaded by a forest of trees. It is the resting place of more than 350,000 people, including women’s rights icon Susan B. Anthony and abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
