Curated by Unique Fair '21 MFA (Fine Arts Studio), this group exhibition features a select group of emerging artists with roots in the city of Rochester, NY, and is inspired by the historical efforts of artists like Luvon Sheppard, whose Allofus Workshop became a center for creative collaboration in Rochester during the 1970s.

For the second addition of the All of Us exhibition, Fair has brought together six emerging women artists whose work explores confrontations with idealized, constructed and multiple selves: Jillian Hagadorn, Haley Indorato '22 BFA (Studio Art), Erin Nesmith, Lily Rice '25 BFA (New Media Design), Damali Underwood, and Brittany Williams.

About the curator:

Unique Fair

All his life, Rochester-based painter Unique Fair ('21 MFA) has continually centered activism and community in his artistic practice. He allows the identity of his subjects to be represented based on their own terms, as opposed to those society has placed upon them.

Frequently depicting canonically underrepresented individuals within visual arts field, Fair grapples with notions of oppression, liberation, and the friction between the two. As a Black queer man, Fair examines our collective attempt at creating an equitable world, grappling with the nature of our failures and successes through his artwork.

Unique Fair (b. 1996, Rochester, New York) is an American artist based in Rochester, New York. His work has been collected institutionally by the Memorial Art Gallery, The Cary Collection, and the Mercer Gallery. Fair has been invited to participate in the Rochester Contemporary Arts Center Residency and the Print Club of Rochester BIPOC Residency. Fair has exhibited at the Little Theatre, Tower Fine Arts Center Gallery, Rochester Contemporary Arts Center, Bevier Gallery, Frank’s Chop Shop, Tremont Studios, Mercer Gallery, among others.

Most recently, Fair exhibited at Scope Art Fair on Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami, where he hosted an academic talk on the intersections of Fine Arts World and Arts Academia.
