Samad and engineering students win grant
RIT Dubai mechanical engineering students Yazan Abou Kassab, Omar Disouky, and Regan D'Souza and industrial engineering students Sheikh Khalifa Al Nahyan, Nour Al Assaf, and Yazan Mashaki were selected as a winning team at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund Demo Day for their project, “From Waste to Parts: Converting PET Bottles into 3D-Printed Components.” Advised by Wael Abdel Samad, associate professor and chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at RIT Dubai, the team received a grant and admission to the accelerator program to further develop the project.
