Semi-Autonomous Window Cleaning System

The Glass Guardian tackles the challenge of cleaning the Innovation Center's high, tilted windows, challenging to clean with traditional methods at RIT Dubai. This novel cleaning system prioritizes safety and efficiency. A remotely controlled platform, equipped with electric ducted fans (EDF) for secure gripping through vacuum suction, maneuvers the window surface with precision. A motorized brush dislodges dirt, while an integrated wiper ensures a sparkling finish. To optimize cleaning, water is delivered from a ground reservoir directly to the brush.

The Glass Guardian eliminates the need for risky window cleaning at heights, reducing reliance on external services and offering significant cost savings. This innovative project showcases a safe, efficient, and cost-effective solution for maintaining the university's iconic building, ensuring its gleaming facade reflects its cutting-edge spirit.
