In the modern era of outdoor recreational activities, the integration of technology into camping experiences has the potential to revolutionize safety and convenience. This project envisions the development of a smart camping tent, encompassing both hardware and software components, aimed at enhancing the camping experience while ensuring camper safety.
The proposed smart camping tent combines the expertise of Computing, Industrial and Electrical engineering students to create a versatile and user-friendly outdoor shelter. Its physical structure features robust weather-resistant materials and a user-friendly setup mechanism, accompanied by integrated communication devices. One of the standout features is an offline messaging system that allows campers to communicate with neighbouring tents even in remote areas lacking internet connectivity.
Messages are stored locally and synchronized with the app and website when a connection is re-established. The messages can instantly move between the tents until it reaches a connected point and communicate with the website. These messages can report about each tent condition and exchange SOS messages for critical circumstances.
