Dr. Cassandra Berbary received her PhD in school psychology from Duquesne University in 2017.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship with RIT’s Priority Behavioral Health and Clinical Internship Program and completed her post-doctoral fellowship jointly with RIT and Rochester Regional Health.  Dr. Berbary’s clinical work focuses on consultation and psychological assessment with at-risk youth in Rochester Regional Health’s outpatient settings.  Dr. Berbary also has experience conducting psychological assessment and psychotherapy in both public schools and juvenile justice settings.

Her clinical research interests include improving treatment outcomes among substance using and aggressive youth and juveniles across clinical settings in Monroe County, NY.  Specifically, her research focuses on the treatment of co-occurring substance use and aggression among youth using digital and interactive CBT platforms.   Dr. Berbary’s research involves the use of technology-based tools (e.g., cyber technology, virtual reality, and the development of avatar coaches) within CBT-based treatment approaches addressing co-occurring substance use and aggression among families.

Dr. Berbary has been working on Project Advance, a Global Health Initiative to address addiction and family violence in the U.K.
