Now that you're officially part of the Tiger family, it's time to start preparing for your arrival. This summer, we will guide you through everything you need to know before you arrive on campus.
Start checking your RIT email often. It’s where you’ll find what you need to do, what you need to know, and how to connect this summer.
For now, let's focus on the basics.
New Student Checklist
Your first official RIT assignment: the New Student Checklist! Complete the items in the “Start Here” section now. Then review the full checklist and note any mid-summer deadlines.
Pro-Tip: Keep yourself on track with the self-tracking checklist. Use the login credentials you used to manage your RIT application, not your g.rit.edu email credentials.
Pick the orientation that’s right for you. We offer two options based on your prior college experience. Check them out below and register by Saturday, August 1. Need help deciding? Reach out to the Orientation team.
Transfer Program #1 is for students with at least one year of prior college experience, offering ongoing connection opportunities through events and speakers beginning during TigerFest
and continuing throughout the fall semester. Highlights include targeted events and a Transfer Appreciation Week, with attendance at all sessions being optional.
Transfer Program #2 is for students transferring to RIT who have not completed a full year of study at another institution. This program follows RIT’s traditional New Student Orientation experience with a unique twist. Orientation groups will be created for transfer students and led by an Orientation Leader (OL) who also started at RIT as a transfer student.
Join us for a Transfer Reception from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, August 17, at the Joseph M. Lobozzo Alumni House. This is your chance to meet and mingle with other transfer students, make new friends, and kickstart your journey at RIT. Enjoy light refreshments and meet new people!
With RIT Housing deadlines approaching, you may have questions about housing or other aspects of campus life. Visit the Housing,
