In October, Honors students and staff from the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences (GCCIS) participated in a professional development trip to Washington, D.C. The visit is part of an annual tradition to build the Honors community among freshmen and develop relationships among incoming students. These excursions are also designed for students to visit companies in the digital and gaming industries, in order to observe how the concepts they are learning are being used outside of the classroom. This year, students visited MITRE Corp. (pictured), DigIt! Games, ISL - iStrategyLabs, and historic locations in the Washington, D.C. area. The GCCIS Honors team is planning a trip to San Diego, Calif. during spring break in March.
